The lessons in this book have been structured with the beginner in mind. It is suggested that new guitarists begin at lesson one, spending at least one week learning the exercises and songs in that lesson before moving on to the next lesson. It is important for you as a beginner to learn the proper names for the parts of the guitar. When you talk to other musicians or people that work at music stores it is important for you to be able to communicate with them about the guitar in a proper manner.
Music language for reading and writing for Guitar 1. Tablature tablature is a type of musical notation that guitarist have developed to describe what strings on the guitar are being played and what frets need to be fingered.
2. Staff Notation Music is written on a STAFF which has 5 lines and 4 spaces. Music is read from left to right just like you would read a book. Where the note is on the staff tells you how high it is or how low it is in pitch. The note can be on a line or a space. Each line of the staff has a letter name that goes with it. The musical alphabet goes from A to G.
